We recently completed an online shop for Goldington Academy, following its successful implementation they identified lots of positives. Rather than us wax lyrical about how good our on-line shops are for schools, here is the feedback from the school.

1. The polo shirt embroidery process starts with digitising your logo / brand. We will therefore typically need a high resolution jpg or eps image. If you do not have these then talk to our in house production team on 01733 394758
2. There may be a cost for the digitising process (dependant upon how many garments you require)
3. Identify the quality of polo shirt you require. As you would expect typically the more you pay for a polo shirt the better it will
• Wash
• Keep its shape over time
• Retain its colour
4. Choose a polo shirt colour that will match your corporate logo colours. The nature of embroidery is that it produces a logo with depth (so in some cases it is possible to use thread colours that match the shirt colour and produce a subtle brand identity). In other cases e.g. if your logo is yellow in colour then selecting a black polo shirt will create a logo with real impact. 5. Polo shirt embroidery is a manufacturing process where there is a set up time and process to get the machines geared up to complete the embroidery process. There are 4 key elements to consider when purchasing embroidered polo shirts

The technology and threads used in professional embroidery mean that an accurate colour match can be achieved. If your colours go through colour graduations or tints then these can be more difficult to replicate
2. Modern multi head embroidery machines are fast but the process still takes time as there is a physical stitching process taking place. For example a 4 colour logo approximately 50mm x 50mm in size will take approximately 10 minutes to stitch. At Total Promotions we can embroider multiple garments simultaneously but it will often take 5 times longer to embroider a polo shirt compared to printing  a polo shirt
3. The embroidery process will create your logo in a format that will look good for many years. Therefore its often worthwhile  spending a little more per garment to ensure that the shirt doesn’t wear out before the embroidery. We have seen corporate polo shirts being worn that we embroidered over 10 years ago that still look as good as the day we embroidered then.
4. Make sure that the embroidery company will provide you with a sample of the embroidered logo on a garment before you confirm the final order. A good promotional clothing company will be
• Able to accurately digitize your logo (providing the logo is of high enough quality)
• Happy to produce a sample to make sure that everybody is happy with how the embroidered polo shirts will look
